Cook Guide: Sell Your Food on Better B Grub 🍲

Hi! This guide shows you how to start selling your food. Go one step at a time. You can do it!

How long does it take? - In the app: about 15 minutes. - Waiting for us to say "yes": usually 1 to 3 days. We send you an alert. - Getting your Arizona papers first (if you don't have them): it can take a few days to a few weeks.

✅ What you need before you start

Don't have everything? That's OK. You can tap Save and finish later.

🌵 Arizona rules (the simple version)

Arizona lets people sell food from home. But there are rules.

  1. Sign up with Arizona. The state health department (ADHS) keeps a list of home cooks. Get on the list. They give you a number.
  2. Get a food handler card. You take a short class. Then you get a card.
  3. Put a label on your food. The label needs: - your name and your ADHS number - every ingredient - the day you made it - a sentence saying it was made in a home kitchen. Arizona gives you the exact words, so copy them exactly. - a website link from ADHS
  4. Meat, chicken, and milk foods: wait! 🛑 An Arizona law (A.R.S. 36-932(E)(2)) may not let you sell food with meat, poultry (chicken, turkey), or dairy (milk, cheese, butter) through an app like ours. If it does allow them, you must hand them to the buyer yourself. Our lawyer is checking. Until we tell you it's OK, please don't post these foods.
  5. Keep hot food hot and cold food cold. If food has to travel, it can only be moved once and for 2 hours or less.
